CiderWatch: Your gateway to the mysterious world of the 714 Cider Factory

Cider Watch, Day 1, 29-Oct-2005: The crew assembles at the 714 Cider Factory. In an operation of military precision, 100+ lbs of apples were committed to a juicy grave. Photos to come.

The data: Initial specific gravity: 1.052 (+/- 0.01)

SO2 tablets added ~1700 PDT

PBR was consumed.

Cider Watch, Day 2, 30-Oct-2005: The Bible (Proulx & Nichols, 1980) was consulted. The brew was stirred to distribute the SO2 and ~12 hrs later (2000 PST) the yeast was added, along with yeast nutrients. It was decided to consult the Oracle (Joel at the brew store) for instructions in addition of tannin and acid supplements.

Cider Watch, Day 3, 31-Oct-2005: No action. Happy Halloween.

Cider Watch, Day 4, 01-Nov-2005: No action. Chief cider maker AWOL at Skamania, WA.

Cider Watch, Day 5, 02-Nov-2005: No action. Chief cider maker still AWOL at Skamania, WA.

Cider Watch, Day 6, 03-Nov-2005: No action. Chief cider maker returns.

Cider Watch, Day 7, 04-Nov-2005: Houston, we have bubbles, I repeat, bubbles. Fermentation has commenced and all is well with the world.
